Official fee, voucher price and total cost
There are three amounts to keep separate. The official exam fee is the price charged by the provider for the selected test and country. A seller’s voucher price is the amount charged for its code. Your total may also include an assistance fee or a balance due at redemption.
Use the provider’s current fee finder for the official figure. Our price guide lists ₹18,900 as a reference exam price and ₹18,000 as a voucher price. The difference is ₹900. Ask for your final payable total before deciding. The tool below does not retrieve live prices. Never substitute a competitor’s advertised price for the official fee without checking that comparison.

What the result means
A positive difference means the entered offer total is lower than the entered reference fee. A negative difference means the entered offer costs more. Neither result proves that a voucher is valid or that it is suitable for your test.
For example, suppose an exam fee were ₹20,000 and a voucher cost ₹18,000 with ₹300 in additional charges. The total would be ₹18,300, with a difference of ₹1,700, or 8.5%. These are illustrative numbers, not current PTE prices or a Book Exam Online offer.
For a fair comparison, use final payable amounts and the same test, country and coverage. If a seller quotes a starting price, obtain its final payable figure before entering it.
Cost questions to ask a seller
- Is this the complete amount I will pay?
- Is there a separate assisted-booking charge?
- Will anything remain payable to the exam provider?
- What happens if the code is invalid or not delivered?
- What is the expiry and when must I complete redemption?
- Does the offer apply to the exact PTE version and country I need?
A “lowest price” claim needs current, comparable evidence. We do not make that claim. Use the voucher buying guide to compare eligibility and support alongside the arithmetic.
Keep a useful purchase record
Save the quote, product description, final paid amount, validity and support terms. The record should identify what you bought and who is responsible for delivery. Keep the voucher purchase record separate from the exam appointment confirmation so you can raise an issue with the right party.
An affordable PTE booking comparison: worked example
The following figures are fictional examples, not provider fees or Book Exam Online quotations. Both routes cover the same exam in the same country. Replace every figure with a current, final payable quote before making your own comparison.
| Cost component | Direct booking example | Voucher example |
|---|---|---|
| Exam payment or voucher | ₹19,000 | ₹18,000 |
| Additional service charge | ₹0 | ₹600 |
| Balance still payable to provider | ₹0 | ₹0 |
| Total exam booking cost | ₹19,000 | ₹18,600 |
| Travel for the selected appointment | ₹400 | ₹1,000 |
| Combined planned spend | ₹19,400 | ₹19,600 |
The voucher route saves ₹400 on the booking itself in this example, yet costs ₹200 more once travel is included. The lesson is to compare both the exam payment and your full trip budget. Travel is a separate personal expense, not part of the provider’s exam fee.
Calculate booking cost as voucher price + additional charges + remaining provider balance. Then add your travel and accommodation estimate. If the final payable total or voucher coverage is unknown, leave the decision open until the seller clarifies it.
Searching for “cheap PTE exam booking” is a useful starting point for comparing options, but a lowest-price claim needs current like-for-like evidence. Book Exam Online provides price guidance to help you compare options; it does not promise the cheapest market rate.
